Castle Opening
Iandra Castle will again be open for public viewing over the Sunday of the holiday long weekend. Opening hours on Sunday June 9 are from 10am to 4pm. Admission is $15 for adults, no concessions and $5 for school aged children There are no Eftpos facilities available
Historian Researcher
You are invited to spend an afternoon with local historian and writer Ross Maroney later this month.
Ross, author of the two volumes of "Old Young" and "Jerrybang, a Short History of Lambing Flat Gold Field" will be sharing his knowledge at the Uniting Church Hall, Young on June 29 from 2pm.
Raised in Young, Ross currently lives in Orange and remains involved in history and research.
This event has an entry fee.
The afternoon is organised by the Young Historical Society Inc and RSVP's (6382 2248) are required by Saturday June 22.
Swap Meet
Wombat village hosts another Swap Meet on Saturday with many attractions including market stalls with car and bike parts, collectables and clothing.
There's also a show and shine on the Saturday open to rods, classics veteran and vintage vehicles.
Christian Women's Convention
The Light of the World is theme for the South West Slopes Christian Women's Convention to be held at St John's Parish Hall on Saturday June 15.
There is a guest speaker, refreshments and light lunch. No babysitting is available. Jan Parker (0403 503 583) has details if you would like to attend.
Soup Day
Hot soup and slice in a central location for a good cause - what could be more enticing? The Young Hospital Auxiliary is again offering lunch to help raise funds for the Young hospital next month.
Young Town Hall is the venue. Ongoing - Art Exhibition at Burrangong Gallery, Young Visitor Information Centre, open seven days.
