Jordan McLean's hopes of replacing the injured David Klemmer in game two of State of Origin have taken a blow.

The North Queensland Cowboys prop suffered a hamstring injury in his side's loss to Manly on Saturday night.

Klemmer is sidelined for up to six weeks opening the door for McLean's, a former Cherrypicker, Origin debut.

He's now racing the clock to be fit by June 23.

The Blues are trailing 1-0 in the series after an 18-14 loss to Queensland in game one.
