Last year's Stars of Young raised approximately $60,000, but this year's installment is expected to raise more than $80,000.
From all walks of life, 14 local residents put their hand up earlier this year to raise money for the Cancer Council and become a Star of Young.
Both this week's Thursday and Friday night shows are sell outs respectively, with tickets for Friday night selling before being advertised to the public.
"The Stars were set a goal of raising $2000 each and just about all of them have absolutely decimated that figure," said Cancer Council Community Relations Coordinator Christine Williams.
"I can't believe the generosity of the people from Young. For a town of just more than 7000 people, this is quite extraordinary."
Ms Williams said the effort of the Stars was very commendable.
"Not only have these 14 people raised crucial funds for the Cancer Council, but they have also worked unbelievably hard on their dance routines," Ms Williams said.
"You have to remember these Stars are busy people with businesses and families. They really have been quite inspiring."
The Stars used a multitude of ways to fundraise including raffles, musical events, bowling, a women's wellness day, school mufti day and gaining sponsors.
Supporters of the Stars could also make direct donations to each Stars' EveryDay Hero page and use the text to vote facility.
Pharmacist David Hamblin is expected to take out the top fundraising trophy with an approximate $13,000 haul, but the judge's choice and people's choice awards are still up for grabs.
The Stars of Young include:
- Jackie New, Aaron Moloney, Keith Duran, David Hamblin, Stuart Norton, Adrian Capra, Trudi Jayne Summerfield, Dick Cummins, David Coombes, Alison Foreman, Kyle McGovern, Dick Donges, James Shannon, Melissa Anderson.
