The Cherrypickers brought up just their second win of the season with a 32-4 victory over the winless Bulldogs at Les Boyd Oval on Saturday.
Jewitt was pleased with effort.
"Our attitude and defence were outstanding. Our goal line defence has been ordinary for a lot of the season but it was fantastic. We knew we had to aim up in defence, particularly in our own 20 and we did," he said.

Sam Langford and Boro Navori both crossed for doubles while Jake Veney also impressed after moving into the centres.
He opened the scoring after 20 minutes.
Jewitt is now looking to back up the performance against Kangaroos at Alfred Oval to ensure they remain in the finals race.
They are five points behind fifth place after Temora's win over Junee.
In the lower grades over the weekend, reserve grade accounted for Cootamundra as well defeating the Bulldogs 28-16.
The under-19s were forced to share the points with Southcity with the sides locked at 22-22 at the final hooter, and league-tag had a comfortable 32-4 victory over the Bulldogs.
Under-17s had the bye.
After nine rounds of competition, reserve grade is one competition behind leaders Southcity and equal with Gundagai Tigers.
League-tag is third on 12 points chasing unbeaten Temora on 18 points at the top.
Young's under-19s and under-17s continue to perform in Group Nine with both sides leading their respective competitions.
