Students of Young Public School will be delighted when they received shiny new musical instruments from Rural Charity - Gift of Music, and the generous fundraising efforts of Canberra Grammar school.

On Friday, representatives from Rural Charity - Gift of Music visited Young Public School to present the children with a wide range of new instruments, and also some Lego.
Gift of Music donated the instruments from the kind donations from the Canberra Grammar School, who organised a fundraiser concert at their school.
CEO of Young Regional School of Music, Matt Bolger was overjoyed when Gift of Music confirmed they would include Young Public School on their road trip.
The school has a significant relationship with Young Regional School of Music for 35 years.
The music education has supported Young Public School to maintain a senior band of approximately 40 students and a junior band of approximately 20 students each year, amounting to several thousand students receiving high quality music education.
During the 35 years, students have represented Young Public and the Regional School of Music in many important local, regional, state, and international events, while some have gone on to careers in music.
"To see the joy when the students were unwrapping these instruments was something to behold" Mr Bolger said.
"Learning an instrument is a lifelong skill which gives so much happiness, studies have proven time and time again the magic sensors playing music explodes on our brains. In a really good way.
"We thank this great initiative from Canberra Grammar School."
The Gift of Music has been travelling in rural and regional communities hit hard by drought and flood.
CEO Wayne Thomson was very excited to be visiting Young Public School.
"In our travels, we get to see firsthand the impact of droughts and floods... children are just so happy when their playing music," Mr Thomson said.
"We are dedicated to give as many instruments as we can to drought and flood affected communities across eastern Australia due mainly to the wonderful generosity of the Australian public and Canberra Grammar School."
The Young Regional School of Music undertakes regular schools program.
"We are so happy of the support we receive by these schools," Mr Bolger said.
