The Cherrypickers five-eighth nailed the one-pointer with less than two minutes remaining to secure Young a nail-biting 23-22 victory.
Young's coach Roy Jewitt was relieved to come away with the points and seal a second straight win.
"I thought Roos had the upper hand but we kept battling and just kept ourselves in the game," he said.
"I thought Jesse [Corcoran] would have [taken the field goal] but he got caught up and Sam came up with it the next play and luckily for us he nailed it."
Aborosio Navori, Jake Veney and Langford scored first half tries to give Young a 16-10 lead at the break.
Kangaroos capitalised on some ill discipline from the Pickers at the beginning of the second period, leveling the scores through a Timoci Vatubuli try in the 47th minute.
Roos then piled on pressure earning three repeat sets, however Young's goal line defence held strong.
The Pickers edged ahead through a Kelepi Komaisavou try, but it was quickly cancelled out when Vatubuli broke Young's line to put Hayden Jolliffe over.
Trae O'Neills conversion locking the scores at 22-22 with 18 minutes remaining.
Young repelled a number of sets before Langford converted his opportunity about 15m out directly in front of the posts.
"It was ugly but it's better to win ugly than lose good," Jewitt said.
"The boys did fairly well, the effort was good. Keeping them out for those three or four sets down there under constant pressure was really good.
"It's good to get two on the trot we just have to keep building. If we can keep improving we'll keep getting results."
The result for Young's first grade also completed a clean-sweep for the club with all five grade winning respective games on Saturday.
Young Cherrypickers 23 (Aborosio Navori, Jake Veney, Sam Langford, Kelepi Komaisavou tries; Jesse Corcoran 3 conversions; Langford field goal) defeated Wagga Kangaroos 22 (Glenn Dumbrell, James Morgan, Timoci Vatubuli, Hayden Jolliffe tries; Trae O'Neill 3 conversions)
