The mercury plunged to -5.1 degrees on Saturday morning as residents woke to their yards blanketed with ice.
It was the seventh time this month the temperature has dipped below zero degrees.
The previous coldest day was this month on Thursday, June 6 when the low was -4.3 degrees.
Saturday's low was the coldest start to a day since September 17 last year when the mercury also dipped to -5.1 degrees.
Residents can breathe a slight sigh of relief this week with no sub-zero degree mornings on the forecast, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Top temperatures are expected between 14 and 17 degrees, with a chance of rain on the weekend.
