Cherry Jam happens over two nights, Wednesday July 31 and Thursday August 1 at Young North Public School Hall. Each of the concerts will be jam packed with singing, dancing, aerobics, rock bands, choirs, beatboxing, marimbas, drum corps, concert bands and much more.
Students at all local public schools are busy rehearsing, including for the show-stopping finale, which combines bands and singers from all of the different schools, working together on one song. This is a complex task, with students helping each other to learn parts to the song, which has been arranged and is being conducted by talented local tutor from the Young Regional School of Music, Mark Corkery.
Students from the combined small schools have already started gathering together to learn their choir songs and marimba pieces. The small schools have also formed their first ever combined rock band, with band members coming together from Wombat, Maimuru, Monteagle and Murringo to rehearse their song for the show.
Tickets are available now at M&M's Music Studio for $8 adults and $5 for children. Get in quick so you don't miss out.
