After results failed to fall in their favour last week, the Yabbies season will end on Saturday following their final regular round game against Temora.
Captain Ned Mullany said there's still plenty to play for.
"They beat us early in the season so we want to get one back on them. We want to say we've only lost both games to Cootamundra and Harden this season and we want to end on a high," Mullany said.
The Yabbies revived old rivalries in returning to the Central West competition this season, after a number of years playing in ACT Rugby's first division.
Yabbies rugby union club president Cec Finley said the decision to move back was "undoubtedly right".
"It's a little disappointing, we would have expected to finish in the top four at the beginning of the season. But in terms of re-engaging with sponsors and supporters it's a huge success.
"The move back to the local competition was undoubtedly the right move. It's been great."
Mullany agreed.
"We couldn't be happier. We probably went in a bit green and thought things were going to be a bit easier than what they were, it's a learning curve for next year," Mullany said.
"But I think it's been great. A lot of the Old Boys want to watch Young play Harden or Young play Cootamundra, not Young play Vikings [Tuggernong]. Everyone at the club would say it's been a success."
Saturday's game begins at 3.15pm at Cranfield Oval.
