More than 20 residents and a number of staff dressed in their pyjamas and enjoyed a 60s theme disco.
Mercy Lifestyle Coordinator Sandy Pronk said music and dancing was hugely important in a number of ways.
"Music and dance is really important when it comes to therapy. A lot of research has gone into it. Music therapy is really great with calming and combining it was dancing it's also a great way to be socialising," she said.
Staff have introduced dancing exercises for residents each Friday, Sandy said.
She it was fantastic to see so many smiles on faces and so many residents engage in the event.
"Anything to get the residents engaged is great," she said.
Sandy explained that a number of residents have been swing dancing for many years, and many attended dances when they were younger.
"They really enjoy it," she said.
