The Lions Club of Young and Murrumbidgee Local Health District [MLHD] are hosting a Diabetes Expo which will feature four guest speakers, diabetes health experts, free risk assessments and more.
The guest speakers include personal trainer and champion bodybuilder Jo Cochrane, diabetes educator Isabel Dykes, practicing dietitian Grace Barthgate and Acting Chief Pharmacist of MLHD Cindy Patterson.
Scott Freudenstein of the Lions Club of Young encourages the community to attend.
"Lions of Young has taken on diabetes as our service project and this is the first component of what we hope to build on into the future," Mr Freudenstein said.
"We're hoping we can put together other things in the future, with the help of Murrumbidgee Local Health District, to help people with diabetes."
Mr Freudenstein says the Expo is be referred to as the first annual event as organisers hope to make it a regular event on the calendar.
The event begins from 11am and will finish about 3pm on Saturday at the Town Hall in Young.
It follows National Diabetes Week from Sunday, July 14 to 20.
