The mixed foursomes that were scheduled for Sunday have been moved to September 22.
The Wednesday medley stableford was won by Wayne Hewson with 43 points. Laurie Brown was second on a countback with 38 points from John R Barton. This is a welcome result for John R who has battled the winter conditions. Balls went down to 33 points and there were 54 players.
The new electronic booking and scoring system was trialed for the first time on Wednesday.
The system was well received by the golfers.
At this stage it will be only used on Wednesdays.
It is expected that within the next few weeks it will be fully implemented for all competition play.
All members are encouraged to login into- young.1golf.com.au in preparation for the introduction of the new system.
Follow the instructions on the login screen and once in you can update your password. You can make individual or group bookings.
On the new score cards you record your score in the usual manner on the left hand side.
Once you have confirmed your score with your marker you fill in the dots on the right hand side of the card. This will reduce mistakes before the card is scanned into Golflink.
Next Saturday the men will play a Single Bisque Par event sponsored by Gavin Marshall and Craig Watson. Bisque Par is a competition format built on the foundation of Match Play vs. Par, but with a twist. In Match Play vs. Par, golfers (using full handicaps) try to beat par on each hole. But in Bisque Par, it is up to the golfer to decide on which holes to use their handicap strokes. A rule sheet will be available in the Pro Shop. On Saturday the 24th August there are two events being held in conjunction. Golfers have the choice of the Mens Foursomes Championships held over 18 holes or a single stableford.
