Young Public School, St Mary's Primary School and Young North Public School as well as several childcare centres and pre-schools all celebrated.
Students were able to fully immerse themselves in their favourite novels, books, comics and more by bringing the characters from the pages to life.
Some schools held parades, hosted morning tea, breakfasts with dads, had special guests come to read and speak with the kids, library and book displays, books sales, book fairs as well as plenty of other activities.
Some day care centres in Young had dress up days all this week letting the kids express their creative sides with some amazing costumes.
Book week is organised by the Children's Book Council of Australia and encourages children to find the fun side in reading and a love of books.
