A new exhibition opens at the Burrangong Gallery, Young this Saturday on September 21. It's a portrait challenge with an intriguing regulation.
The subject of each portrait entered must be of a person currently living in the Hilltops Shire or a member of the Young Society of Artists.
Should be an interesting viewing as we check out the locals on the wall.
The exhibition opens for five weeks on September 21.
Country duo perform
Vicki Walsh of Young and Alex Winnell of Cootamundra will team up for a rendition of some well know duets at Take 5 on Friday this week.
Fresh from a performance with the Young Theatre Company's 'My Fair Lady' Vicki is looking forward to returning to the Hilltops Library at Young to entertain the audience.
Alex is a Cootamundra resident who happily travels to take part.
He's a skillful MC as well as performer, plays guitar and sings. His extensive experience is on show for all to see.
Men's health
Men's health is in the spotlight in the Hilltops region over coming days with the Prostate Van setting down at Anderson Park Young from September 20-21, and the Wombat Memorial Hall venue for a showing of the award-winning comedic play, Carpe Diem on Thursday September 26.
The play is free and if you have not secured your tickets at the Wombat Hotel prior to the event, they are on sale at the door.

- September 20: Country Music Duo Vicki Walsh and Alex Winnell, Take 5 on Friday, Hilltops Library Young, 12.30pm to 1pm.
- September 21: Burrangong Art Gallery Exhibition: Portrait Challenge and Exhibition arranged by the Young Society of Artists Inc.
- September 21: Foodies Night Market, Burrangong Racecourse, 4pm to 9pm, free entry. A first for Young.
- September 26: 'Carpe Diem' at Wombat Memorial Hall 7pm for 7.30pm start. Free tickets available at Wombat Hotel or at the door. Award winning portrayal of everyday Australian males dealing with issues of health, grief, loss and depression. Bring a plate for supper to share.
