Hilltops council announced in a statement on Friday that the pool's opening date will be Saturday, October 12, however temporary shower and toilet facilities will be in operation for approximately eight weeks.
Mrs Vitnell said the new building amenities including showers, toilets and canteen aren't likely to be finished until at least the end of November.
She said there'll be no canteen until then.
"We ask the public to be patient. We have to work with what we have got," she said.
"Council has told us they will have the work done to have it ready to open [on Saturday]. That is all is still going well."
Council's statement says they are working closely with its contractors to keep the use of the temporary facilities to a minimum length of time.
Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram is pleased with the progress.
"While it is unfortunate that there have been some delays, I believe this project is worth getting right and the benefit to the community will be evident for years to come," he said.
Council said work will be occurring to complete the new splash pool and splash pad in early 2020.
Alleena's husband Vince Vitnell was cleaning the pool on Friday afternoon and says it should be sparkling by the end of next week.
"At least the kids can come and jump in the pool. Once it's all done it will be a really good facility for the town," he added.
