Blake Micallef again struck gold when Billysbredone scored a narrow win at Canberra last Sunday night defeating another locally trained pacer in Hello Miss Kitty. This was the second win for the former Bathurst pacer, both in identical circumstances, with the inside run coming with fifty metres to run and the winner claiming the prize.
Peter Schiller recorded another win with his up and coming pacer So Much Better for owners Glenn and Susan Schiller. The win was the result of a successful objection lodge by driver Will Rixon, stewards awarding the race to So Much Better when it was agreed that the leader Art I Special had drifted out in the final stages of the race and caused interference to So Much Better and the judges numbers were reversed.
Young and Shepparton Harness Racing Clubs finalised the Nic Dewar Memorial support raffle, made possible by Tipperary Equine Stud of Young. The winner was Terry Jenner of Young. The clubs will combine to conduct the Nic Dewar Memorial Pace in coming months as part of a feature night of racing at both Young and Shepparton.
