Siblings Katrina Bannister and Tarnia Flett are leading the fundraising charge and will have a team of more than 50 hit the pavement to help raise awareness.
Their team is called David's Warriors in memory of their father David who was diagnosed in 2014 and passed away in 2016.
"It's after our Dad. We do it in memory of him but it's just to get the word out about what it's about, not a lot of people understand it and there's no real funding that goes to people living with the disease or research," Katrina said.
"There's no cure at the moment so it's a long road for people who have it."
They said they've been happy to help organise Sunday's event in Young.
"We went to Batemans Bay last year and another big group from Young went to Wagga last year so organisers thought they'd bring it to Young to see how it would go," Katrina said.
"It's a good opportunity to see how it goes in town. It's a very family friendly day out."
About 170 people have booked to take part and registrations are open on the morning.
A number of teams have organised fundraisers to help balloon the fundraising pot to close to $12,000.
The 5km walk from Arboretum Park is designed to raise awareness by everyone wearing blue shirts.
It begins at 10am on Sunday.
