Thousands of people are expected to flood the Cherry Capital to experience a weekend of cherries, wines, market stalls, shows and endless entertainment.
Friday night action, rather than closing Boorowa Street, returns to Anderson Park which will be the focal point of entertainment throughout the three days.
Anderson Park this year will also host the Cherry Queen and Cherry King coronation following the grand parade on Saturday afternoon.
Caitlin Sheehan, National Cherry Festival president, is urging local residents to support the 70th edition of the Festival.
"It's our 70th year. Everyone should come along. Come and enjoy it all. We're putting on a big show," she said.
"There's heaps happening across town all weekend."
Lovell Street will close for the fireworks display on Friday night following a number of local bands and singers performances.
Highlights on Saturday include the cherry pie eating competition, massed pipes and drums spectacular, grand parade, Cherry Queen and Cherry King announcement, and live entertainment into the evening.
The popular pip spitting competition will feature Sunday following the Big Breakfast and bush poets.
Pick your own cherry orchard tours will run Saturday and Sunday, and Hilltops Wine tastings are scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Visitors Centre.
Programs are available at various businesses including the Young Witness.
