Each year the season's first box of cherries goes under the hammer to mark the official start of the stone fruit season.
David Munnerley, Laura Ower, Kate Cruickshank, Brianah Griffin and Tasman Coulter were on deck to watch this year's first case sell for $20,000 to Freshfellas, with all proceeds going to the Variety Children's Charity and Help For Hirschprung Disease.
This year's Cherry King and Queen coordinators Alison Foreman and Rebecca Jones accompanied the entrants.
They thanked the Cherry Growers Association for making the trip to Sydney possible.
