Betty Smithers and the team at 2YYY community radio will have their doors open to the public on Friday, December 6.

2YYY community radio station is hosting a market day and open day along with Curves Fitness, The Young Witness and Pink Pot Garden Spot on Friday.

People can wander the radio station studios, inspect machines at Curves, view old paper records at the Witness and see all the Pink Pot Garden Spot has to offer.

Each business will have a lucky door prize and there'll be a barbecue and cake stalls at 2YYY.

"We thought it was time we'd do something and include the block of businesses," a 2YYY spokesperson said.

"People can come and see how the radio operates. There's lots of equipment at Curves people can have a look at and Pink Pot Garden Spot always has plenty out the front and inside."

The Witness will have some of its old papers, which are used in popular online flashback galleries, at its office for people to browse, and photos taken at previous Cherry Festivals will be on display.

The market and open day will be between 11am and 1pm, Friday, December 6.
