The opening event resulted in a convincing win for the Brucedale trained Lenas Art ($3.10) for David Druitt who came fromsecond at the bell to defeat Ideal Flash ($7.50) and Fastestgirlintown ($7.00) by a half-head margin and a mile rating of 2:00.3.

The race was marred in the early stages when the Canberra trained polemarker Mini Major broke stride and dislodged the driver, Melissa Hawke, but horse and driver escaped injury and Melissa did drive later in the meeting.

The first of the more favoured runners was able to keep favourite backers in a good mood in race two.

The Wagga trained Beast Mode ($2.50) landed the money following a run from fourth at the bell to post a one-and-three-quarter margin over the locally trained Dragon Stride ($14.00) and Great Hand ($34.00) with the timekeeper giving the winner a mile rating of 1:58.5 for the 1720m event run on a fast track.

Last week's Cherry Festival Cup feature race winner, Mat Rue presented Renee Dale ($2.50) in great shape to see the New Zealand import record a comfortable win, scoring by eight metres over Hey Suzie ($3.50) and La Gesture ($11.00) for regular visitor Trevor White from Junee.

The mile rating of 2:01.0 was again a reflection of the state of the quick track.

Well supported runners continued to collect the major end of the prize with Man Hands ($1.70) for Blake Jones posting the easiest win of the night with a stunning 21m winning margin over So Much Better ($26.00) and Tuapeka Glory ($15.00).

The mile rating was one of the best seen, (1:55.1,) on the Young track for some time with the five-year-old We Will See mare now a winner of 11 races for her excited Leeton owners. There is likely more wins to come.

The shortest priced winner of the eight race programme was the Nathan Turnbull driven Promise To Rock ($1.15) who also posted an impressive winning margin of 15.5m over Last Golden Hope ($19.00) and Gotta Kick ($8.50) in race five.

The winner had won and been placed at her last four starts and from gate one was always in command to take out the race over the 2100m journey.

Possibly the most rewarding race of the night was without doubt race six when the Grenfell trained and driven Holy Camp Rob ($21.00) stormed home to record a three-and-three-quarter metre win. Coming from sixth at the bell and skirting the field at the turn into the straight to gather in early leader Corporal Jujon ($2.30) and Kyle Shannon ($10.00) in a mile rating of 1:59.0.

The win could not come at a better time for popular owner Clive Anderson who has been involved in harness racing for a long time both as an owner, breeder and bookmaker.

Another Grenfell trained pacer in Smoken Alice started favourite in race seven but after starting from the number one gate drifted back to be fifth at the bell to finish fifth behind the eventual winner in Swooped To Safety ($5.00) with Safely Under Wraps ($21.00) and Safari Dancer filling the minors in a slowly run race that gave the winner a margin advantage of three-and-a-half metres over his rivals.

The final race of the night was again an interesting event with the first starter Monterey sent out a short priced favourite, but unfortunately the smaller track did nor suit the Berrima trained filly who came with a good trial form record, and she finished at the tail of the field.

The winner was also a first starter for Stan and Nathan Townsend from Alectown. Our Antonio Rose ($6.50) finished strongly from third at the bell to defeat Gabbys Ideal ($8.00) and Shannonsideal ($5.50) by six-and-a-quarter metres and a mile rating of 1:59.3 in an exciting end to another top night of racing.
