In the 2019 edition held at Alfred Oval on Boxing Day, Scott's-trained Fire Up Keith speared the lids from box three and was able to produce an all the way victory recording a time off 30.11s.
The son off El Grand Senior held off a late charge from the Rod McDonald-trained Tony's Rescue to claim the $3000-to-the-winner prize and the South West Slopes Credit Union Young Cup (520m) silverware.
Que Allen for Geoff Sheather ran third.
It was Fire Up Keith's sixth career triumph and second in a row after winning a heat of the Cup at Young on December 14.
He's had 24 starts and 10 placings as well as six wins.
Scott had previously won the Young Cup in 2017 with Wild Josh, a big achievement for a trainer with only a small kennel of greyhounds.
Scott was assisted in the training duties by local identity and owner of Fire Up Keith Greg Derrick.
The Young Hotel Sprint was taken taken out by Unrushed trained by Geoff Sheather from Goulburn and raced by Polly Thurkettle.
Unrushed won by a nose defeating Tammy's Chance for Lorraine and Jack Roy of Wallendbeen.
Rodney McDonald's Dana Corporal closed out the placings.
It was Unrushed's 18th career win and her 58th career start.
In the night's other races, Wagga trainer Paul Strutt enjoyed success picking up two winners and quinella in the Canteen Ladies Stakes (347m).
Trundle Betty and Stagger Out Bert ran first and second respectively with the former winning by just more than two lengths.
It was Trundle Betty's third win in start number 20.
Kennelmate Stagger Out Erny started Strutt's night in winning fashion in race two taking out the Trimech Electrical Maiden (347m).
Stagger Out Erny had six races prior to this maiden career victory, he had picked up one third place finish.
A huge crowd was on board for the club's biggest night which included 10 races.
Club president Greg Prest thanked all the club's long time sponsors and his staff for making Boxing Day night a memorable evening once again.
