Generous members of the public supported a Red Cross bushfire appeal barbecue and raffle held outside Woolworths on Saturday, and also a bake sale on Boorowa Street.
The barbecue and raffle raised $3,413.90 while the bake sale proved hugely popular as well selling out of everything and raising $2370 in just a few hours.
Money raised from the bake sale will be split evenly between the St Vincent De Paul bushfire appeal, and helping the appeal organised by Donges Supa IGA. Young Rural Fire Service crew members attended the barbecue outside Woolworths.
A bench seat made by the Young Men's Shed was raffled with money going towards the fundraising effort. Organisers of each event took to social media over the weekend to thank the support of the Young community.
Between the two fundraisers nearly $6000 was raised.
