The former GJ Coles Variety Store, Coles-Fosseys and Target Country store closed on Saturday, December 29, 2018 due to a lease expiry, according to a Target spokesperson at the time.
The building did have continued tenancy since it was built by Tom Tester in the 1940s for GJ Coles Variety Store.
It's the first time it's been available, vacant, since 1942.
It traded by the GJ Coles Variety Store company name until the early 90s when it became known as Coles-Fosseys.
It was later established as Target Country.
The building has sold four times since 1988 while leases have renewed.
The Young Witness asked residents late in 2018 what store they'd like to see in Young's main street.
K-Mart was a popular answer, while Spotlight, Lincraft, Cotton On, Hungry Jacks, JB Hi-Fi, another pub and ten pin bowling were among the responses.
