A man from Temora who stole 24kgs of wool and bank cheques from a business in Young will spend until December this year in jail.

Joseph Gordon Newham, 34, was sentenced for a string of offences to four years and seven months behind bars to be served by way of an aggregate sentence with a non-parole period of 18 months.
He appeared via audio visual link at Young Local Court on January 7, charged with 14 offences stemming from crimes committed between October 2018 to August 2019.
He was charged with two counts of larceny after stealing three envelopes containing cash cheques worth $3291.02 and a 24kg bale of wool worth $44 from a business in Young on May 28, 2019.
Facts tendered to the court reveal Newham and another man attended a Milvale Road business and unloaded from a ute two bales of wool before loading them back on with a third bale.
CCTV captured this, as well as Newham pocketing the three envelopes.
Later that day at a bank in Young, Newham cashed two of the cheques worth a combined sum of $1026.26.
Police later charged him for dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage.
One day before these offences occurred in Young, the 34-year-old sold close to 100kgs of stolen merino wool to a broker in Temora for $679.
He had stolen the wool from a Temora property on Bundawarrah Road between 7am on May 26 and and 5pm on May 27.
He was later charged with larceny, drive with licence expired, enter enclosed lands, and dispose of stolen property worth less than or equal to $5000.
Newham was also convicted for three counts of resist police in execution of duty, assault officer in execution of duty, rider not wear helmet, behave offensive in public, shoplifting, steal property, destroy property, and throw thing into/onto vehicle or road, collectively stemming from five separate incidents throughout a 10 month period.
He'll be eligible for release on December 3, 2020.
The sentence was backdated to June, 2019.
