Police have caught a learner driver from Young driving a stolen car while unaccompanied and under the influence of alcohol.

Police attempted to stop a 21-year-old man driving a Hyundai SUV about 12.10am on Thursday, January 16 on Cook Crescent, Young. The vehicle was soon located in a driveway on Dwyer Drive.
The man was arrested and allegedly returned a positive reading to alcohol. Police also allege a knife was found in the man's possession.
Inquiries were made and revealed the vehicle had allegedly been stolen earlier in the night from a residence in Young.
The driver was taken to Young Police Station and was later charged with the offences of take and drive conveyance without consent of the owner, custody of knife in public place, drive with low range PCA, unaccompanied learner and not display L plates.
He will appear before Young Local Court on February 12, 2020.
- Domestic assault
Police used capsicum spray on a man who allegedly resisted arrest in Harden.
About 7.30pm on Monday, January 13 police attended Binalong Street, Harden regarding a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival police were informed of allegations that a 29-year-old man of Stockinbingal had threatened and assaulted a person and damaged property.
When police attempted to arrest the man, it is alleged that he resisted arrest and after being warned, he was sprayed with OC spray.
Cootamundra police assisted Young police and the man was arrested and taken to Cootamundra Police Station. He was charged with the offences of resist officer in the execution of duty, malicious damage and common assault.
He will appear before Cootamundra Local Court on February 3, 2020.
