Saturday the Young Golf Club held its Australia Day medal event at sponsored by Blooms the Chemist, Langs Pools and Spas and Kay McDonald from Kay McDonald Trophies.

A total of 85 players - 66 men and 19 ladies - participated.
The event was a single stableford played in grades and divisions.
The best overall score in the men and ladies won the respective medal.
In the men's A Grade James French won with 40 points from Shaun Rolfe on 39 points.
In B Grade Sam Woods was the winner with 39 points from Max Gilbert on 38 points.
In C Grade Robert Norton was the winner with 42 points from Brett Scelly on 37 points.
Hence Robert Norton was the medal winner.
In the ladies Division One event the winner and also the medal winner was Noela Hardman with 38 points from Chris Keevil on 34 points.
In the ladies Division Two the winner was Maureen Perkins on 37 points from Lynette Page on 33 points.
The Watson Toyota Nearest The Pin winners were Simon Murray and Ray Hargraves.
Grant Harding won the Vinnies Pizza voucher.
The men's ball competition went to 35 points on a countback and the ladies to 33 points on a countback.

Wednesday competitions
Last Wednesday the medley event was won by Peter Terry on 41 points.
Andrew Aiken came in second on 38 points and Darryl Brown placed third on 37 points. The next best in order were Terry Shipp on 36 points, Paul Holmes on 36 points and John Jones on 36 points.
The ball competition went to 32 points on countback.
Friday competition
On Friday the Nine Hole Competition was won by Brian Christie with 25 points.
Ron Flynn came in second on 23 points and Larry Marks placed third on 22 points.
Sunday social club golf
On Sunday the Social club event was won by Garry Tamainu with 32 nett from Ron Flynn on 34 nett and Peter Norton was third on 34 nett.
Sunday medley
The Sunday medley was sponsored by Kyle McGovern Electrical and was won by Garry Tamainu with 40 points.
