"The sub-grade preparation is currently being completed by Council, with works commencing on the Tennis Court surface in early March 2020," a Hilltops Council spokesperson said. "This stage of the project is being funded through the Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Two."
According to Council Stage One of the Tennis Court project will have two courts delivered to the community, with a high quality acrylic surface. Stage Two of the project includes the installation of lighting, with stage three providing an additional two multipurpose courts.
"Stages two and three of the project remain unfunded at this point in time, however Council have put forward an application for stage two to the Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Three," the spokesperson said.
"The Boorowa Tennis Club remains a key stakeholder in the project having provided valuable feedback towards the design and staging of the project."
Council believes the completion of the tennis courts will see the Boorowa Showground Complex become a major sporting hub for the community and is a key piece in realising the masterplan developed for Boorowa and being implemented by Hilltops Council.
