The group will now be able to cater for more members with bigger space, president Don Smyth said.
"The old site wasn't adequate for the number of members we have. We can really push for more members now. We have about 25 and we might get 18 to 20 on a Tuesday and Thursday when we're open," he said.
The Men's Shed hosted Steph Cooke MP on Friday to discuss grants and show her the new roof, which they funded themselves from donations, raffles and items they've sold.
"We've cleaned it up the best we can and are chasing some funding to get where we'd like it to be," Don said.
"We raised over $40,000 for a new roof through raffles and donations and things we've sold from the Men's Shed. Judd Morris Roofing did a wonderful job and did us a good deal. We want to put in a new toilet, we need a disabled toilet, we have an area set aside but just need the money. We need an electrical upgrade, heating and cooling and a dust extractor to keep it safe for all the members."
The old Men's Shed building was on McKenzie Street, Young.
