CareFlight will deliver the specialised training to professional and volunteer first responders from organisations including the Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service, Volunteer Rescue Association, and other community members as part of its MediSim program.
CareFlight MediSim manager Eliza Charlett said the first five or ten minutes can mean the difference between life and death.
"In rural, regional and remote areas, first responders and community members can be on their own for lengths of time, so they need to be able to manage that situation with confidence."
The Cootamundra workshop will aim to enhance the recruitment, retention and capability of emergency management volunteers, delivered at no cost to participants.
A workshop will also be held at Cootamundra on Sunday, February 23 at the NSW Rural Fire Service Cootamundra building.
It will be held on Saturday, February 22 at the Wagga SES Unit beginning at 2pm.
