It's not often that you see an art exhibition that features the work of three family members, but that is the case at Burrangong Gallery this month.
Judy McAlister and her grand-daughters Aleira and Bianca Scott share a love of art and work together in July's studio. They take the limelight at the "Grandma has a Studio" exhibition. The artists have challenged each other to pull together a variety of works across a mix of mediums.
Take 5
One of the newer musicians to the Hilltops region, Darrell Pearce of Murringo is the guest performer at this week's Take 5 on Friday at Hilltops Library Young branch on February 28. Darrell is another seasoned performer with a big repertoire, and he promises a great half hour of entertainment.
Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the event. The concert is held from 12.30pm to 1pm and you can bring coffee, lunch, friends and family. It is free.
Koorawatha Show
Hilltops region hosts two agricultural shows in March: the first in the village of Koorawatha this Sunday and at Boorowa the following week. One of the attractions of the Koorawatha show this year is the junior farmers group judging. This is the second year the event has been held at Koorawatha with the competition's first, second and third place getters qualifying to contest the title at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney.
The Koorawatha Show has many other attractions including the prince and princess competition as well as bike, ute and car show. Popular 2LF announcer and journalist Neil Langford will officially open the event.
