The Cherrypickers will take on Group 11 powerhouse Forbes Magpies in the opening round of the pre-season tournament.
Hall is looking to use the event as a good guide to find where the team is at.
"There is no need to rush anyone at this time of year and I'm looking at Wyalong as a good chance to get together and have a game-like intensity run," Hall said.
"You can replicate it as much as you can at training but it is not the same and it is good to have that franticness, rush and eagerness that happens."
He's named a side that could look "very different" in round one of Group Nine.
A few players are unavailable through injury and few new faces could join the squad in coming weeks.
"We're playing the long game and this is only the first step," he said.
"We'll definitely have a few different faces in round one but at this stage at West Wyalong we have a really good mix of good capable local guys heading over who are all looking to play first grade in round one."
Young plays Forbes at 7.10pm.
