Last week just before entries for the annual Championships were due to close Equestrian Australia and Equestrian NSW made the announcement that all competitions to be held under its umbrellas were to be cancelled, however the team at the Young Dressage Association have worked out a way for riders to continue to ride and compete without breaking the social distancing or EA/ENSW rules.
"We have created an April Online Video Competition!" Young Dressage Association's committee said.
Riders are able to enter which tests they would like to ride and then film themselves riding the tests on an at size dressage arena before submitting the video to the judges who will then mark the tests.
Riders will have to ensure the video is of good quality and that the sound is on to ensure there is no tampering of tapes.
The results will then be emailed out to the entrants with the winners announced by Young Dressage Association at the end of April.
Young Dressage Association members will be able to have any points they earn go towards the 2020 Leadership Board.
Entries for the April competition are now open and being taken at https://bit.ly/3a4LKPw. Visit YDA on Facebook for more info.
