Golf going strong in Young

Saturday's event for Men was a 4 ball best ball sponsored by Grant Harding and Allan Moore.

Mark Crutcher and Greg Oliver won the day with 44 points on a countback from Mark Hawker and Peter Hamblin.

The Watson Toyota Nearest The Pin winners were Matt McKnight on the 7th and Barry Gaal on the 17th.

The Eagles Nest was not struck.

The Terry Brothers Carpet Court secret birdie hole was the 5th and was won by Peter Terry.

The Ian Page Bricklaying card draw was won by Allan Moore.

The Vinnies Pizza award was won by Laurie Brown and Robert Norton.

There were 54 players and in the individual event Daryl Brown had 40 points.

Grant Harding was next best with 38 points on a countback from Mark Hawker.

Balls went to 33 points on a countback.

In the matchplay Jim Glasheen won 1 up against George Glasheen, Aaron Moloney won 1 up against Craig Watson and Justin Sheather won 4-3 against Beau Elsley.

Players in the matchplay are reminded that all round one matches are to be completed by Sunday March 29.

This Saturday the Men will play a single stableford sponsored by Gus Stinson.

The following week Saturday April 4 is the Medal of Medals event held in conjunction with the Keith Simmons Monthly Medal.
