Most farmers close to Young have completed cropping.
"It's been a cracking season so far," Elders agronomist Michael Marchant said.
"There's still a bit to do out towards Bribbaree and Quandialla and north-west of Young there's a bit to be sown, but it's only early May. Most are going really good and the crops are in. It's amazing," he said.
Last month was the wettest April Young has had in more than 20 years, according the Bureau of Meteorology.
April's 125.4mm of rain, along with what's fallen so far this month, has taken this year's total at the BOM's station at the Young Airport to 300mm.
April's deluge was also the most rain Young's had in a single month since September 2016, when more than 200mm filled the gauge.
