The government's ban on beauty services in NSW for more than two months has resulted in lengthy waiting lists, but salons can now begin slowly matching the demand.
Ms Hambilton said many people had come in this week for piercings they'd booked for their birthdays.
"We had a long list of people on our waiting list for when we could reopen. It is hard to say what is more in demand as many people were looking forward to get their beauty services done again and piercings are popular. It is an exciting time for some girls who were allowed to get their ears pierced for their birthday, but they had to wait as their birthday fell in the period of when we weren't allowed," she said.
Social distancing is being supported and COVID-safe plans required.
"We are only allowed one person in the room and we're sanitising before entering. Our restrictions haven't changed in the way of the cleaning standards as we have always had strict hygiene measures," Ms Hambilton said.
"Our lovely regular clients are very happy to be able to come in again, I don't know if it is them or us who is more excited."
