Instead Young Society of Artists will organise an open exhibition over the first two weeks of December in order to provide an opportunity for artists to exhibit their talent and to provide a cultural event for locals and visitors during the local cherry season.
As there will be no competitive element to the planned exhibition, the group will not be seeking sponsorship for art prizes in 2020.
However, all artists across the region are invited to submit works in the 2020 Hilltops Cherry Time Art Exhibition and take advantage of the opportunity to exhibit their work for sale in a public place and provide the community with a cultural event to add some normality to a much disrupted time.
"Young Society of Artists hope and trust that 2021 will see the return of our annual Cherry Festival Competitive Art Exhibition," Heather Ruhl said.
Entry forms will be available early September at the Young Visitors Centre, Southern Cross Cinema or on YSA Inc Facebook page providing there are no further restrictions in place at that time.
Meanwhile, the Burrangong Gallery Winter Exhibition is now open daily until September 4.
The next exhibition to be held in Burrangong Gallery will be Young Society of Artists Spring Time Exhibition, this will run alongside the Hilltops Spring Time promotion of our Hilltops region.
Young Society of Artists Inc members are invited to submit works for exhibition by the Wednesday, September 3 a limit of three paintings per member delivery date Friday, September 4.
