Nancy received the award's insignia from Governor General David Hurely.
Secretary to the Governor General, Paul Singer summarised Nancy's achievements.
"Nancy has been contributing to the life and wellbeing of citizens from Young for over 50 years. She was instrumental in raising significant funds for the fit-out of the new hospital in Young and is an active patron of the hospital's auxiliary," Mr Singer said.
"Her service to a range of other community organisations has been extensive and equally impressive. Mrs McGregor is an inspirational role model and we honour her today."
"It's a wonderful surprise to receive this award for the years of voluntary work that I have given to this wonderful town of Young," Nancy said.
Nancy was a founding member of Young Netball Association and has been a Girl Guides member for 50 years.
