Inspector of Young Police Jacob Reeves says police will engage with offenders no matter the time of day, after a man was charged for alleged drug and weapon possession on Monday night.

About 12:10am on Tuesday, January 12, police stopped a 23-year-old male of Young on Zouch Street.
He was riding a scooter with another man.
Police will allege he was carrying a bag which he threw away.
The bag was located and police allegedly found a quantity of prohibited drugs and a hunting knife.
The items were seized and the man was issued a court attendance notice for the offences of possess prohibited drug and custody of a knife in public place.
He will appear before Young Local Court on January 19, 2021.
The second man was also searched however no items of interest were found in his possession.
"Police will be visible late at night and in the early hours of the morning in and around our towns, engaging as appropriate with persons at these times," Inspector Reeves said.
"There is no place for drugs or weapons of any kind on the streets of the Hilltops and Weddin areas and we will take action against those found in possession of them," he added.
