The award was accepted by owners Peter and Cath Mullany, who operate the pick-your-own orchard, vineyard and cellar door with their six children.

The award recognises their excellence in customer service, industry related productivity and promotion of the Hilltops region.

Ballinaclash was established as a cherry and stone fruit orchard by Peter's parents in 1965.

Peter and Cath took it over in 1988 and diversified by planting grape vines in 1997. The wine making started in 2005.

In recent years, wine made from Ballinaclash grapes have taken out a number of major wine awards.

The 2019 Tom Cabernet Sauvignon was a big trophy winner taking home title for best cabernet sauvignon at the 2020 NSW Wine Awards.

In 2000, part of the orchard was opened to the public for pick-your-own tours which have continued to become increasing popular.

Their cherries are now grown for pick-your-own customers only.

The farm gate shop and cellar door have expanded over the years offering a huge range of Ballinaclash products.

Cath Mullany thanked her family and the support from the Young community.

"I'd like to acknowledge Pete's mum and dad who purchased Ballinaclash in 1965 and then gave us the opportunity to take it on from them. I'd also like to acknowledge our children for the hard work they put into our business. We certainly wouldn't have been able to grow the business without our children," Cath Mullany said.

"Thank you also to the local community for supporting us and really being enthusiastic about our journey which has helped keep us going."
