Riverina kickstarted Andrew Johns Cup (under 16s) and Laurie Daley Cup (under 18s) campaigns with a long trek to Pambula on the state's south coast.
The Bulls were hosted by Monaro Colts.
Under 16s went down 18-6 while the 18s suffered a 34-14 round one loss.
Under 16s included Cherrypickers Riley Powderly, Billy Corcoran, Bailey Dal Molin and Noah Dal Molin, while the 18s had Young representatives Charlie Corcoran, Logan Collins and Dylan McCartney.
Young's Chloe Muggleton was in action for Canberra Raiders in the opening round of the Tarsha Gale Cup under 19s.
The Raiders were edged out 16-12 by the Cronulla Sharks at Bruce Oval, Canberra.
Chloe started on the wing.
Brock and Clay Sing combined for the Raiders in round one of the Harold Matthews Cup under 17s.
Brock started at five-eighth and and Clay at lock forward.
The Raiders went down 28-4 against Cronulla Sharks also played at Bruce Oval.
The Raiders will be away in round two this Saturday. The ladies will play Wests Tigers while Harold Matthews and SG Ball take on Western Suburbs Magpies at Kirkham Oval, Camden.
In the Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cup, the Bulls host Western Rams in the local derby at Leeton this Sunday.
