Elle Paradisis has registered to participate in the March On: Solider On challenge next month.
March On: Solider On is a virtual walking challenge to raise funds to help prevent veteran suicide.
Elle said the event is close to her heart.
She plans to walk 52km from the cenotaph at Anderson Park, Young to the Boorowa War Memorial.
"I am doing it to help all service men and women returned and currently serving. There are three of us possibly looking into doing a big weekend walk from Young to Boorowa and back," Elle Paradises said.
"This cause is close to my heart. I have close friends who have served and they have lost their comrades through suicide. And this happens even after months, years of being back.
"I've started my training. You have all of March to complete the 96kms. It may only be just Young to Boorowa for the big walk. It's a personal challenge to get a taste of the distances soldiers go. We are walking for the fallen and the living."
Elle hopes to raise $500.
"I have put the goal as $500 but more would be incredible. Of people cannot donate simply leaving a message of hope on the page I am creating today - Elles March on Soldier on - means a great deal."
Last October Dr Bernadette Boss CSC was appointed interim National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention.
The National Commissioner will make recommendations to the government about actions and strategies to prevent future suicides, and will report publicly on their findings to Parliament each year.
