This included a well attended lunch at the Urban Retreat restaurant and a Christmas dinner at the Golf Club restaurant.
The club also welcomed three new members.
We finished the year with a most enjoyable trip to the Tumbarumba Spring Festival weekend.
Ten very well kept gardens were open with a wide variety of plants, trees and ornaments.
It was also a treat to visit Paddy's River Falls located near Tumbarumba.
In November we donated and planted three trees, which are growing well, in the grounds of the Young Retirement Village to celebrate the National Gardening Week.
The club also presented Helenie Carmody with an appreciation certificate for her many years of service as secretary and president.
We are hoping that 2021 will be a safe and a more fruitful year nation wide.
Young Garden Club annual general meeting was held on Wednesday, February 3.
Following are the 2021 office bearers:
- President Joy Carter Carajac (returned), vice-president Debbie Anne Bushby (returned), secretary Moya van Rijswijk (returned), assistant secretary Aliyah Assad (elected), treasurer Sandra Smith (returned), assistant treasurer Jan Richards (elected), publicity officer Helenie Carmody (returned), social convener and trade table all members to share this duty, supper organiser Aliyah Assad elected.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 3 in our new venue located at 27 Campbell Street (the nun's old residence).
The guest speaker will be Ben Perryman, who is an artist and a gardener with horticultural and landscaping experience.
Ben uses visual art to create, improve and maintain gardens at a low cost.
All are welcome to come along and attend, listen to Ben, share friendship and a delicious supper in a relaxed atmosphere.
