The Lions have drawn Randwick City Football Club at home in round two of the FFA Cup Football NSW preliminary rounds.
Last season, the Lions got their first taste of the nation-wide knockout competition when they defeated Bankstown Sports Strikers 4-1. However, COVID-19 restrictions put an end to Young's dream of progressing to the finals with the competition cancelled in July 2020.
As in previous years, entries are compulsory for all senior teams of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men's, Men's 2, Men's 3 and Men's 4 competitions.
Applications are open to all association clubs.
The Lions will need to win six games in a row to qualify for the round of 32, when A-League clubs enter the competition. Wollongong Wolves, NPL Champions in 2019, receive automatic entry.
Young's journey to face the top club's in Australia begins March 13 at Hall Bros Oval. The game is set to begin at 3pm.
"Once again it's a really good opportunity for the club," new coach Duncan Cameron said.
"We're beginning to look a lot stronger with really good numbers at training."
The Lions will travel to Cootamundra on Sunday where first and second grade players will look to impress the coach and secure a place in next Saturday's line-up.
Cameron expects Randwick to be favourites and is happy to embrace the underdog tag.
