Our Triple Play took out the $30,600 group three Young Pacers Cup (2480m) in what was his second attempt after running fourth behind stablemate Spare Me Days in 2018.
The victory continues an amazing record for Hewitt in Young having won the Cup three years in a row with Spare Me Days from 2016.
In front a big crowd at the Young Paceway on Friday night, Our Triple Play, driven by Hewitt, saved energy at the back of the field as race favourite Bundoran ($1.65) set a rapid pace while being challenged early by Experia ($16).
Hewitt made his move at the start of the bell lap, peeling three-wide around the field and striking the lead around the top of the straight.
Jenden Strike ($26) had hopped on Our Triple Play's back and looked to spring an upset pushing the seven-year-old all the way to the line.
But it was Our Triple Play and Hewitt who showed superior speed late and had too much class.
Stablemate Send It finished third.
Our Triple Play came from the widest gate in the second row, clinching victory by 2.5m while registering a winner's mile rate of 1:57.1s.
It was his 80th outing and 17th triumph.
"He stayed strong the little fella, he just kept on running," Hewitt said of Our Triple Play.
Connections including part-owner Canberra Raiders captain Jarrod Croker were on track to cheer home Our Triple Play.
"Thanks for having us out here, it's my first time out here and it's a good little night. We [Hewitt and Croker] have been good friends for a long, long time and had a few horses. He's got a good team, Hewy, and they're going pretty well," Croker said.
