"Following heavy rainfall and a sewer overflow in Carrington Park Young, Council have closed off the BBQ and the Playground area for public access," Council said last week.
"We are currently undertaking a deep cleaning of the BBQ area so that it can be reopened for public access from tomorrow, Thursday 1 April 2021."
According to Council due to the spill, the soft fall material at the playground was required to be replaced.
"Council is currently sourcing the material required, however, due to the specific nature of the material that can be used for this purpose there may be delays in supply," Council said.
The Playground area in Carrington Park was closed to the public until the area was fully cleaned and disinfected, and all of the soft fall material replaced.
"We apologise for any inconvenience, however public safety is our priority," Council said.
