Riders from across the region and state congregated at the Bendick Murrell Young Dressage Association grounds from Friday last week for a massive weekend of competition as the club held its 2021 Donges IGA Young Dressage Association Championships.

There was a lot of success for local riders, with local young gun Tommie Parker winning the Performance Saddlefits Volunteer Prize Draw, however the highest point score for the weekend went to Susan Elekessey from Wagga who scored 81.765 in the Novice 2B riding Callum Park Damascus.
Local winners and place getters were:
Ash Carberry and her palomino pony Pine Lane Ariel who came second in the Young Rider Preparatory A and 1st in the pony division with a score of 72.895.
Ash Carberry and Pine Lane Ariel also picked up the third place spot in the Prix Caprilli with a score of 63.437 coming in behind Grenfell's Pheobe Clifton and her horse Im Legit and Megan Bryant on Lauren MBE, not a bad effort for one of the youngest riders in the event.
Sharon McCarthy and her young horse Fairview Nobility took out the top spot in the Closed Restricted Preliminary 1A Championships on a score of 73.400, former Young resident Kaila Simms and Arnage Totil Bliss came in second to Sharon sitting just behind on a score of 73.000.
Kaila and Arnage Totil Bliss also came first in the Closed Restricted Preliminary 1B Championship winning with a score of 78.750.
Sally Walker and her horse Woolaroo Rivercruz came second in the Closed Restricted 3B Championship with a score of 69.000.
Kaila also won the Closed Restricted Medium 4A Championship on her horse Desiree IMP with a score of 72.778 with the pair also coming second in the Closed Restricted 4B Championship coming in behind the highest score of the weekend with 72.778.
Other notable mentions go out to Annabelle Reynolds who came in fourth in both of her classes on Friday and Tommie Parker who was exceedingly consistent all weekend.
