Police say about 2.30pm on Saturday, June 19, they were called to Young Showgrounds after reports of a car driving dangerous, hitting fences and a power pole.
General duties, plain clothes police and highway patrol attended the showground, but the vehicle had left.
Police stopped a vehicle which matched the description given by a witness, and spoke to the driver. Further inquiries found what police allege were damaged parts of a car at the showground.
They attended the residence of the driver and spoke with them for a second time.
The driver, a male, was issued an infringement for negligent driving and a red label defect meaning the car is unroadworthy until it is repaired.
"The alleged manner of driving was clearly dangerous," Inspector Reeves said.
