Alison Foreman and Mary Dodd joined Cr Roles at the forum which was chaired by the president of the NSW branch of the Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA), councillor Cassandra Coleman of Lithgow City Council.
Forums have been funded by the NSW government to empower more women to stand for their local community and nominate to run at the 2021 local government elections.
With women representing only 31 per cent of all councilors serving on the 128 councils in NSW but making up 51 per cent of the population, Cr Coleman said more diversity was needed in NSW
"In order to truly represent society, and the modern society that we live in, we need women on council," she said.
"Women make up 51 per cent of the population but there's not 50 per cent representation on council.
"So how are we going to represent the society that we live in unless we have women on council."
Cr Coleman said it was now time for voters to take the process seriously.
"In general we really need women to support women, so consider voting for a woman," she said.
