Every time NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet mentioned beer at the Freedom Day conference

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet and his colleagues collectively mentioned beer, or variations of the word, 11 times during a press conference at Watson's pub in Sydney on Monday.

The Premier kicked off the press conference by saying "there will be many young people pulling beers, probably better than Damien [Tudehope] just did".

Next up, Deputy Premier Paul Toole said: "The Premier was actually pretty tight when he was the treasurer".

"It was hard to get cash out of him. And he's told me today that he's going to shout everyone a beer if you're here after 11am this morning," Toole said.

"And I'm going to call the beer today, the freedom frothy."

Newly appointed treasurer Matt Kean then encouraged NSW residents to "go down to your local pub and have a beer".

Meanwhile, Small Business Minister Damien Tudehope said: "We're having a beer here this morning and having fun".

Watson's Pub owner Michael Watson then said the first 100 customers would get a free schooner.

But since the politicians and Head of Business NSW Daniel Hunter shared a round of drinks prior to the press conference, one journalist asked if they counted as customers.

"We're down to 95, yeah," Mr Watson jokingly replied.

Perrottet said the previous Premier Gladys Berejiklian was "here in spirit" to celebrate Freedom Day.

"You never know, Glad might even go out and have a beer herself tonight," he joked.

One journalist then asked the Premier if he has a comeback to Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews famous 'get on the beers' quote now that he had spent time behind the bar.

"Well, I had a keg blow up in my face yesterday, so that was a bit more... That was a bit better," Perrottet replied.

"But look, I just want everyone to go out and have fun and enjoy the day, because you've earned it. And, you know, have a beer."
